​In 1990's. Mr Hartland was involved in promoting docklands in the UK to investors based in the Gulf while he worked as an Independent Financial Advisor (IFA). He promoted docklands through a company called 'Morley Consultancy Services' who were based in Dubai. They were able to do finance, management and also letting as well as sales.​​
Mid 1990's to 2007, he involved in selling leisure homes in Spain through Oceanview properties and also worked providing mortgage support for clients investing in the UAE as well as mortgage finance. During his tenure, he also helped clients to purchase using offshore companies to avoid issues with '​Sharia Law'.

Mr. Hartland was heavily involved in promoting 'buy to let' investment properties in Prague from 2005 and sold these properties to international investors all over the world.

Prior to the financial crisis, he was not involved in selling property and concentrated on core skills as an IFA. In Late 2011, he founded Starwealth Consultancy Services (SCS) with partners in Manila to promote Wealth Management Services and Property Investments .

SCS aim to promote Manila as an alternative retirement destination due to the government having a policy which encourages people to retire in the Philippines and buy property.

The company in Manila not only offer quality services but also offers a complete solution for property investors from buying to property management and rental, resale, furnishing, maintenance and tax advise.

As well as advising clients with regard to property investments, he has also personally invested in all the above markets except in the UAE which was a market that he provided mortgage and financial support for but never sold property in that market.

Mr. Hartland has also been involved in property shows around the world from the UK to Shanghai and done many in the Middle East.
